Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I

Built in the 1950s, Silver Cloud Is are much sought-after for wedding ceremonies.

With their sweeping lines and classic coachwork, they are ideal for more traditional weddings.

They are also very spacious, with eight passenger seats. That means plenty of room for that billowing white dress and accompanying entourage.

The famous tall radiator and Spirit of Ecstasy mascot will make those wedding photos look rather special.

Aston Martin DB11 Convertible

This stunning model from Aston Martin is ideal for groom's who want to make a typically Bond-esque entrance on their wedding day.

We say groom because the DB11 only has one passenger seat - so it won't be ideal for departing the wedding venue with your new wife - unless she’s very petite and can fit on the diminutive back seat.

And of course, if you're the bride and have a love of Aston Martins, you'll look fabulous emerging from this beauty. However, it should be said that the passenger space is not ideal for containing large wedding dresses - and it would not be suited to a more traditional ceremony.

Aston Martin DB5

Who could forget the final scene in Spectre, when Bond requisitions the DB5 from Q and rides off down Whitehall with his French mistress?

Why not recreate the scene by hiring your own DB5?

This classic Aston Martin could be the icing on your wedding cake.

It also has room for passengers - but we assume you won't be needing those for your cinematic exit.

Austin Princess Limousine

The elegant Austin Princess was built in the 1960s and can be found for rental with cloth velour upholstery (favoured over leather by the royal family) and walnut trim.

Finer examples of the Princess were coach-built by Vanden Plas and are still used by royals and heads of state today.

The Princess has space for six passengers, but the occasional seats can be stowed away if need be - ideal for brides with large flowing dresses.

Bentley 'R' Type

If you're looking for an exceptionally classic car for your wedding day then this 1950s beauty could be just the ticket.

Once the fastest four-door saloon on the market, today the R Type is the last word in old-style luxury, often featuring burr-walnut veneers, with rear vanity mirrors and a drop-down picnic table.

Arrive and leave your wedding in supreme style.

Rolls-Royce 20/25 Limousine

Harping back to the golden age of luxury British motoring, the Rolls-Royce 20/25 Limousine was built in the 1930s and features dazzling chrome work and wheels often finished in ivory.

Many examples include a privacy division screen separating the happy couple from the chauffeur.

The cavernous cabin is ideal for big, flouncy wedding dresses.

Lamborghini LP560 Spyder

In practical terms, the LP560 Spyder may not seem like the ideal choice for a wedding - but many grooms (and some brides) hire them to take them to the venue, or for the honeymoon getaway.

This beast boasts 347 bhp and a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds - just the adrenaline hit you need to celebrate your new life together.

Some rental firms even allow you to hire them for overseas ceremonies.

Sports cars such as the Spyder can be cheaper to hire than some classic or vintage cars.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia

If you can find one to rent, then the fabulous Ferrari 430 Scuderia would be a truly statement-making way to arrive at your wedding.

Accelerating from 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, this pulse-quickening Italian stallion has a top speed of 198ph (although we don't recommend you try it!).

Also a fantastic honeymoon getaway vehicle, if you have the requisite “mula”.

Badsworth Landaulette

The Badsworth Landaulette will make those wedding snaps extra-Instagrammable, with its vintage looks and its rear canopy - which allows you to wave from the back as you leave your ceremony.

Plenty of space for wedding dresses and graceful exits.

And despite its age, there are still plenty of beautifully-preserved working examples, so you should be able to rent one with ease.

Beauford 'Great Gatsby' Convertible

This wonderful old car recalls the movies of the 1930s.

Some feature a convertible roof and two-tone tyres - ideal for memorable wedding photos.

With four seats it has plenty of space for big matrimonial dresses.

Remaining working examples are rare, but they can be found. Premier Carriage has a sought-after burgundy-and-bronze model available from their Devon branch. It once took Michael Jackson and Uri Geller around Exeter FC back when the positive-thought guru owned the club (with limited success).
