Well-known Italian styling house Zagato has made a one-off MV Agusta F4Z for a Japanese client who has already collected a number of Zagato-styled cars.
Low quality pictures of the bike were leaked last week, but high quality images have now been released showing off the bike's unorthodox styling to its fullest.
Using Agusta's most powerful motorcycle, the F4 RR, as the base for the new model, this one-time-only bike will not go into production, since it was made to the precise specifications of the customer, who according to MV Agusta will not be named.
Aluminium and carbon fibre featured heavily in the bike’s bodywork, which was designed and engineered in-house by Zagato.
The F4Z is visually very different to the MV Agusta F4, with some sections having being re-engineered for the task. Other parts were designed and made specifically for the bike – including the battery, fuel tank, intake manifolds and the exhaust unit.
In a press release MV Agusta explained:
“The design team of the Zagato Atelier had to tackle the challenge of creating a bike that would interpret the lifestyle of the customer, a young Japanese businessman, president of a holding with interests in the fashion and publishing sectors.
“The starting point was the notion that a motorbike expresses its owner’s lifestyle a lot more than a car. Therefore, it was essential to know and understand the character, passions and wishes of the person to whom the bike was destined.”
MV Agusta is based in Milan and has been manufacturing motorcycles since 1945. The ambitious one-off F4Z will no doubt bring in much needed funds to a company that has been struggling financially in recent years.
