I’ve seen the few first around already, and I know it’s only the start. What am I talking about? Clip-on window flags featuring the cross of St George. A pack of two costs a few quid and you can pick them up all over the place. I’m as excited about the summer of football as the next person, and I’d be happy to spend a few quid to decorate my car. Hell, tabloid newspapers will probably be giving them away for free within a week or two.
But I’m not sure I’d want to spend £149 to show my support for the national team. Still, Vauxhall obviously thinks there’s a market for passionate fans with money to spend. It’s launched red and white striped body decals with matching mirror caps for the current shape Corsa three-door. As the picture shows, they stretch from the bonnet’s leading edge right the way to the rear lamp clusters.
Why only the Corsa I’m not sure; aren’t Astra or Zafira drivers allowed to show their support for the team? And why so much money? That’s nearly £150 for, potentially, just three football matches. In these financially tough times, the clip-on window flag looks like a wiser investment. You can even keep them for Euro 2012!
