A man from East Sussex was due to appear in court on Monday for allegedly driving onto the racing track at Brands Hatch during a race.
Footage of a Volkswagen Polo driving into a Fun Cup was uploaded on YouTube, which preceded the arrest of Jack Cottle, 21.
Last month Cottle was charged with causing a public nuisance and is set to appear in Sevenoaks Magistrates court.
In the video a rear-seat passenger films the driver and female companion, who at one point can be heard shouting "Jack this is not right!" as the car is about to merge with the race cars.
But the driver noses the car into the racers anyway, exclaiming, "We're on the track!" much to the consternation of the female passenger, who appears to own the car.
Towards the end of the footage, as the car is driven off the track, a rear passenger can be heard suggesting an excuse for the incursion: "We got lost and ended up on the track."
Luckily for the passengers involved, the car appears to exit the scene safely, with no vehicle recovery operation required.
The video has received over one million hits and can be found on YouTube.
A second video from the stands shows the white VW among the race cars. The commentator can be heard saying, "Why is there a Volkswagen Golf on the track?"
He continues, "I know these are VW Beetles, but that's not quite right, is it?"
