A startrescue.co.uk story...

I’ve been writing a feature this week for gadget mag T3. This is a publication that generally looks at new TVs, gaming systems and other hi-tech electronic exotica, but occasionally features motoring.

The editor wanted something on all the really clever stuff that cars can do but which might not be widely known about, and here’s a flavour. Did you know that the Toyota Land Cruiser can drive itself up hills? Or that the Honda Insight has an on-board coaching system to teach you to be a more eco-aware driver? Or – and this is my personal favourite – that the Range Rover has a screen in the dashboard that can show two different images at the same time? Smart pixel technology means the driver can follow the sat-nav map while the front seat passenger can watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster on DVD. What you see depends on where you're viewing from. Sit in the back seat, lean forward between the two front chairs, move your head from side to side slightly and you can see both images.

Check the date. April Fools Day was yesterday. All this stuff is real, I promise you.
