The owner of one Lamborghini Aventador required a little roadside assistance recently, after his £300,000 car was involved in a crash with two other cars.
Dozens of onlookers gawped at the badly damaged Italian supercar, which can reach up to 217mph. This particular vehicle has been seen around London many times, often with flames shooting out of its exhaust.
The two other cars involved in the incident were a BMW and a Mazda 5 – both of which were parked up at the time. Knightsbridge's Sloane Street was the setting for the smash, which took place on Sunday afternoon.
The owner of the BMW, art consultant Lila Afshar, had returned from a Mother's Day lunch to find that her car was damaged. Speaking to the London Evening Standard, “We showed up about three hours after the incident and there was a letter on the windshield.
“The Lamborghini was being towed away and the owner came up and explained what had happened. He was really apologetic about it.”
The repair bill for the damaged Aventador is likely to be substantial, although the vehicle does not appear to be a complete write-off.
The costly Aventador can reach 62mph in under 3 seconds, as well as boasting a 6.5 litre V12 engine which produces an eye-watering 700bhp.
The man was breathalysed but the police said no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. The bashed Lamborghini was later loaded onto a lorry and taken away.
