TVR is set to return to the sports car market after an absence of nine years.
The British firm has revealed a 10 year plan that will see no less than four brand new TVR models on the road within the next few years.
The new management team aims to return to TVR's roots as a low-volume, driver-centric sports car producer, offering high performance models at competitive prices.
TVR's old Blackpool plant was producing between 1,000 and 1,500 cars per year in its hey-day – a figure that the firm's new management is aiming to match.
The company’s operations director John Chasey said: “This is a unique opportunity to be part of the revival of a great British marque.
“We are a well-funded, well-supported organisation that boasts a vastly experienced management team and a clear 10-year master plan for both product and business development.”
Images of the first new TVR for nearly a decade have been revealed by the firm. Engineering guru Gordon Murray has engineered the new sports car, which will feature a unique Cosworth V8 engine.
The investor group formed two years ago and includes around a dozen wealthy individuals who together purchased TVR from Russian businessman Nikolai Smolenski – under whose tenure, it has been suggested, the company stagnated.
Among the forthcoming models will be two new cars that are closely related under the shell. Both coupé and convertible variants will be available.
An as-yet unnamed British design consultancy is behind the visual look of the new cars.
