Triumph’s new Daytona 675R has received rave reviews from motorcycle critics, having replaced the firm’s two previous Daytona models. The market for the supersport class has been poor for a while now but the main investment and development phase of the 2013 Daytona took place before the downturn so it made sense to complete the project. Many Triumph fans will be glad they did.
The 2013 model is pretty much all-new, offering 126bhp and higher revs permitting shorter gearing. Triumph has moved the exhaust system from below the seat to under the engine – one of the more major changes – which has had the effect of improving stability on the road.
Critics have praised the machine’s stability and handling, and its cornering ability.
In terms of cost, however, the new Daytona has received a little flak: At £10,500 or more, the R version is more expensive than the MV Agusta F3, and numerous other comparable bikes.
However, Triumph enthusiasts will love this model.
MotorCycleNews gave this bike 5 stars, as did the Telegraph.
