A startrescue.co.uk story...

There aren’ t many sports cars that manage to give you that special tingly feeling, but the classic Jaguar E Type is probably one of them. Such was its popularity that the prospect of creating a modern replacement might seem like a tall order, but looking at the images of the new F Type at the Paris Motor Show, they just might have pulled it off.

Red and silver versions of the sports car were driven out at the unveiling. Jaguar’s Head of Design, Ian Callum, drove the red one (well, if you’re the boss you’re not going to choose the silver one, are you?), who got out and explained that he had been waiting many years for the F Type Project. He said the F Type embodied Jaguar’s key values, including “beauty of line” and “purity of form.”

He said of the car, “it’s bold, it’s confident, and above all – it’s desirable… it has its own character, its own time and is in its own place.”

It’ s the sort of thing you would expect a sports car company to say, complete with bits that no-one understands, but it’s hard to deny that this car looks pretty amazing, and is sure to be a real match for its key rivals, namely the Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4, and Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.

As vehicle recovery operators, we normally only get ‘that special tingly feeling’ when we get your broken down car back on the road, but for the Jaguar F Type, we’ll make an exception.
