A startrescue.co.uk story...

There seems to be no award that the Jaguar brand cannot get its hands on. Last week we brought you news that Jags were the country’s most popular cars – according to a survey conducted by What Car? magazine. But the image boosting, brand cementing accolades don’t stop there…

Jaguar has won the annual tow car award. What more could the owners of this luxury brand want? Specifically, Jaguar’s XF model won the award, combining beautiful styling and power with the ability to cause a traffic jam that stretches from Bristol to Penzance. Just kidding – its ability to preclude the calling of the owner’s vehicle recovery provider was key to its success.

The win may not come at the best time as regards the caravan industry. With many floods in Welsh campsites and in other parts of the country, caravan lovers might well be forgiven for wondering if their hobby is really working out for them.

But for those who insist on sticking to caravan holidays in the hope that we’ll be eventually blessed with an Indian summer (or indeed any kind of summer), the choice of towing vehicle is clear – don’t pick a Toyota Hilux or a Range Rover Discovery – get yourself a Jaguar XF.

Aside from the main winner, there were several class winners.
