Despite the fact that it's named after a mythical, hairy mountain-dwelling beast, the Skoda Yeti is nevertheless one of the best cars going, according to a survey completed by 29,000 Auto Express readers. As well as being a car that won't have you calling out your breakdown cover provider on a regular basis, the car is also one of the best value for money purchases and is exceptionally easy to use, according to the survey results.
The Driver Power Survey 2012 put other Skodas in the top five, namely the Superb MkII in second position and the Octavia MkII in the fourth spot. The Mercedes E-class MkIV claimed third spot and the Jaguar XF fifth position.
There was other interesting information in the survey results, too. The Toyota Yaris MkII was up 32 places, and the Honda CR-V 17 places. Those cars not doing so well include the Seat Leon MKII, having dropped 45 places, and the Kia Cee'd, down 42 places on last year's survey.
For those in the market for a new car though, it appears that a Skoda might be a very safe bet. And with a whopping three cars in the top five, all the evidence suggests that anything from the Czech car makers is likely to serve you well for many years.
