964 Ferraris took part in a parade at Silverstone recently, breaking the world record for the biggest number of Ferraris ever gathered in one place. Not only was it the largest number of Ferraris ever gathered together, it was also the biggest ever parade of supercars ever seen.
The previous record for such a feat took place at the Fuji Speedway Circuit in Japan in 2008, where 490 cars were assembled.
The Silverstone parade was led by F1 driver Felipe Massa in a 458 Spider.
As is usual with such events, there was a charity element; Ferrari donated £5 for every car in the event to BEN – A UK charity that supports employees from the UK motor industry.
Every single model ever built by Ferrari was present, including the newest F12 Berlinetta – the most powerful road car ever manufactured by the company. But there were also plenty of ancient Ferraris which looked like they might need to make use of their car breakdown cover at any moment, despite their Italian pedigree.
With 474 more supercars at the event than the previous Japanese record, it is likely to be some time before enough Ferrari owners can be assembled in one place in order to challenge this impressive figure.
