As a vehicle recovery breakdown cover provider, we get to deal with a variety of cars. Most are of the fuel efficient, family-friendly type, but some are of the jaw-droppingly expensive type; and the new Rolls Royce Wraith must come near the top of that category.
Of course, the new Wraith is not yet available – having just been unveiled in Vienna. And besides that, legend has it that RRs simply never break down. Nevertheless, we were intrigued by this, the latest and possibly most powerful Rolls ever to enter their world-famous line-up.
The new styling has been lauded by many in the motoring press, giving the brand its most sporty look to date. The swooping, majestic and powerful styling is backed up with terrific performance under the hood; the most powerful road Rolls ever built.
For some, Rolls Royce’s recent styling has been a slightly uneasy mixture of classic and futuristic, but with the new Wraith, they seem to have struck a perfect balance.
Some criticism has been levelled at the car’s satnav, which in test drives has failed to live up to the brand’s near-flawless image. Apparently, the satnav is seldom sure where it actually is.
The rear-opening ‘Coach’ doorsalso aren’t to the liking of some, nor is the over-abundance of the firm’s logo in the car’s interior. Surely what is arguably the world’s most famous carmaker doesn’t need to remind owners that they are sitting in a Rolls Royce? That said, if you paid £237,111 for a motor, you would probably want to be reassured that it was a Rolls at every opportunity.
What do you think of the Wraith’s new styling?
