Whenever a new Lamborghini comes along, many sports car fans get very excited indeed – and not just the ones who can afford such a vehicle. The Italian firm’s latest offering is called the Aventador, and by all accounts, it looks every inch the classic Lambo monster you would expect it to be.
If you can afford a car such as this, then you can afford breakdown cover – something you may need if you plan on driving the Aventador on our narrow British roads – it’s very wide and according to commentators, the power behind your seat may feel a little hard to handle at times.
But power is what Lamborghinis are all about. The new Aventador boasts a new 6.5 litre v12 engine, which delivers 690bhp through a new paddle shift manual gearbox, to a 4 wheel drive chassis.
The new model has also been developed to be much lighter than previous models, having been crafted out of an aluminium/plastic composite material. But in many ways, much to Lamborghini fans’ relief, the new Aventador is very much the classic Lambo. The driver sits very low down in the car and each gear change gives a thrilling surge. It has been said that the sound of the engine does not quite match the ferocity of previous models, but such gripes are minor when discussing such a car.
If you’re lucky enough to have a spare £242,000 in your back pocket, then you could do much worse than getting hold of the Aventador. You may need to travel to the continent in order to find a fast enough road though!
