This weekend (8th and 9th September) sees Chris Evans’ own Car Fest North take place, at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. The centrepiece of the festival will be the auctioning off of numerous classic cars, but there will also be a variety of music and food to be enjoyed.
All the profits from the ‘Pride and Joy’ auction will go to Children in Need. There will be some very valuable cars present, but there will also be some lesser automobiles up for grabs. And with opening prices for some vehicles start at just £1,500, any buyer of one of these old classics would be well advised to get their affordable annual breakdown cover sorted out as soon as possible.
Among the cars up for auction is a glorious old blue 1977 Triumph Stag (£6,000 to £8,000), a delightful 1967 Austin Mini Countryman (£12,000 - £15,000) and a 2002 Aston Martin Vanquish (£45,000 - £55,000). There will also be a unique Morris Mini Minor decorated in pink flowers, the same one used in a Marks and Spencers advertising campaign, a few years ago.

As well as classic and modern cars, a selection of motorcycles will also be up for sale. Viewing of the vehicles takes place on the 8th (9 – 5.30pm) and the 9th (9-2pm). The auction itself will start at 2.30pm on the same Sunday.
